and my thoughts

This area of the site is still in progress. However, it will be more than just a portfolio. I believe my work should just be considered in the context of other works.

danielng.info: This Site

Who Was It For? Me, and anyone who wants to know more about me.

What Was It? My personal site, which started out as hand-written HTML pages uploaded to S3. I rebuilt it so it's easier to update and safer to change.

What Did I Do?
  • Ported the site to Astro, with a shared layout and components in place of copy-pasted HTML.
  • Added smoke, link, and visual regression tests with Playwright.
  • Set up GitHub Actions to deploy to a dev site for QA, then to production on S3 and CloudFront after approval.
  • Fixed the mobile layout and added favicons, robots.txt, and a traffic report built from the CloudFront logs.

Can I See It? You're looking at it! The code is on GitHub.

fanEx: A UI/UX Concept

Who Was It For? A student group for a case competition.

What Was It? This is a concept for a website for trading sports betting futures tickets, called Fan Exchange and stylized as fanEx. Users would buy and sell tickets for various reasons, including liquidity, the opportunity to make a guaranteed profit, or even peace of mind.

What Did I Do?
  • Collaborated with the team to outline what they wanted.
  • Designed the fanEx logo.
  • Developed a high-fidelity UI/UX concept in Figma.

Can I See It? Sure, check it out here.
